Student Day was started in 2006 as an initiative to support the automotive educational programs at schools by exposing students to the wide range of opportunities in the industry through speakers, corporate support and event participation.
World of Wheels and Autorama are committed to the future by holding these annual Educational Days where students and instructors enjoy the aftermarket hot rod industry. The events feature guest speakers who share their passion of the industry.
Student Career Day takes place at on Friday and begins with a general session at 9:30 am. Plan to arrive early to allow time for collecting armbands at the registration table. Schools should be pre-registered using the Student Career Day Registration Form; however, additional armbands are available for purchase at the door. Armbands are good for admission all weekend.
The general session will last approximately 45 minutes and includes: Distribution of goodie bags, instructions about lunch and special interactive show features, brief comments from sponsors and guest speakers, and drawings for prizes and giveaways.
Following the session, students will be allowed to enter the show ahead of the general public. During the day, they will have an opportunity to meet with car owners and builders, participate in several interactive exhibits, and talk to representatives from area colleges and tech schools. Scholarship opportunities are also available from many of these schools.
Additional information is available on the Student Career Day Registration Form, or by contacting Sue Christophersen at schristophersen@autorama.com or call 248-373-1700.
